A leading global supplier of Polymer Additives providing technical solutions for PVC, Polyolefin, urethanes, ABS, polystyrene and rubber products has an immediate opening for a Quality Manager. This position is responsible for ensuring that the customer, both internally and externally, is receiving a product of the highest quality and produced in a manner that is efficient and economical using the available resources and the most current technological techniques.

TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES OR DUTIES:

Monitor the integrity of the product by ensuring that the Quality/Lab Department is adhering to company policies, processes, and procedures. Minimize manufacturing downtime by increasing the turnaround time performing various tests by training employees on more efficient methods and techniques.
Communicate and work with production supervisors and employees to resolve production issues and/or problems relating to quality.
Investigate customer complaints and research root cause of off color startups. Perform an analysis to determine the reasons for the quality rejects as reported by the customer. Based on the results of the analysis develop a systems that will reduce the number of rejects. Conduct statistical analysis of product characteristics and/or process parameters to support determination of process capabilities, as well as validation of effectiveness of corrective actions.
Manage the ISO program for the plant. Conduct audit of process and testing to verify implementation of corrective actions, training and current use of procedures.
Advise technicians on status of products with questionable color and/or other specifications that require a judgement or more of a subjective call.
Identify training needs and develop programs to upgrade skill levels of laboratory personnel Provide applicable training to keep technicians updated on changing procedures. Prepare and conduct evaluations and orientations.
Perform other duties of similar nature and scope as assigned by manager.



EDUCATION, SKILL, KNOWLEDGE OR ABILITY REQUIRED:
Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or Technical area.
Three to five years experience working in quality in a manufacturing environment.
Three to five years of supervisory experience.
Working knowledge of ISO quality systems and the IAOB's Core Tools (8D, DOE, FMEA, APQP, SPC, PPAP and MSA).
Plastics experience preferred.
Analytical skills to interpret and compare existing and new data.
Professional verbal and written communication skills.
Proficient computer skills (i.e., word processing and spreadsheet applications).








Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
