Establishing, implementing, and directing quality control efforts to ensure those requirements for processing components, and other materials into finished good and products conform to quality standards;
Establishing and maintaining quality assurance standards, procedures, and controls through subordinate supervisors or staff;
Working with manufacturing to schedule and control inspection activities and enforce requirements as specified by raw materials, ingredients, products and package specifications, and regulatory agencies;
Reviewing contract documentation for completeness and accuracy;
Working with R&D during new product start-ups and establishing checkpoints for testing new products and processes;
Initiating corrective action for procedural product or process deficiencies;
Developing and implementing a program of supplier relationships;
Training Quality and Plant personnel in program/procedure requirements;
Directly supervise and support plant Quality Technicians.
EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree required; Food Science or related disciplines preferred.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
7
years of experience with management experience;
Food processing or baking background;
Experience in root cause investigations and training;
HACCP certified;
SQF practitioner;
Willing and able to travel up to 25% of the time.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
