An industry leading tier 1 automotive supplier is actively seeking to add a Tooling Designer (Mold Maker) to their Tooling team. This person will design thermoplastic/thermoset injection molds to be built at local tool shops or in-house, and to assist Tooling Engineers with regard to design issues.
Responsibilities for the Mold Maker
Designs thermoplastic/thermoset injection molds to produce lighting parts in accordance with company manufacturing standards and customer product requirements
Assists in the creation and maintenance of the thermoplastic/thermoset injection mold design standards as well as the mold design standard manual
Works closely with Tool Engineers and the tool room staff to ensure proper design for ease of maintenance and workability
Provides technical support and training to Tooling Engineers for new mold designs implemented into production
Requirements for the Mold Maker
Associates degree in Tool and Manufacturing Technology or a related discipline
At least 4 years of tooling design experience
